A mostly pictorial blog about the day to day life in our beautiful Oasis - El Rio De Aguas, Almeria, Spain.

We are experiencing the most severe drought in living memory.Since last May we have recorded only 36.4 litres of rain per sq meter. In other words our Autum and Winter rains have not materialiazed and the Springs at the source of El Rio are very low. We are cleaning out the old Moorish tunnels to connect directly from a source of water issuing from deep in the mountain. Thank God for the Moors otherwise we would be in serious water problems for the Huerta (irrigated land), and for the whole village served by our Hydralic Ram Pump.
